The rumours circling the upcoming reboot of the Superman franchise are continuing unabated. We already know that Christopher Nolan has been brought in by Warner Bros to oversee the next film, which will be called Superman: The Man Of Steel. That film will see a new actor pulling on the blue tights, with Brandon Routh not returning. And it's also got David Goyer writing the script.

Actually, there's more to it than that, too. For IESB has revealed that it's Goyer and Jonathan Nolan who are on scripting duties for the project, the same pair who are also writing Warner Bros' next Batman movie. Christopher Nolan is expected to direct that, although that hasn't been confirmed (but it looks more and more likely each day). But what of the director of the Superman reboot?

We're all but certain that Bryan Singer won't be heading back to Metropolis ever again, but the latest rumour suggests that Jonathan Nolan may be. In fact, he may be down to make his directorial debut with the project. Two brothers at the helm of Warner Bros two biggest non-Harry Potter franchises? Who'd have thunk it.

But it gets more interesting still. For IESB also suggests that the long term plan that Christopher Nolan has here is to get the long-mooted Justice League movie off the ground, which he will direct. That's, of course, far from confirmed. But from where we're sitting, it's a tasty, tasty proposition.
