Waking Sleeping Beauty: the trailer

A documentary that anyone interested in Disney animated movies should put to the top of their to-watch list: it’s the trailer for Waking Sleeping Beauty…

Okay, now this looks fascinating. Arriving off the back of positive reviews from those who have seen it on the festival circuit, Waking Sleeping Beauty is a documentary from Don Hahn that tells the story of the revival of Disney hand-drawn animation. It takes the story from the lows of the early 80s through to the highs of the mid-90s, and features, in this trailer alone, a very young looking John Lasseter and Tim Burton among its collection of faces.
What makes this particularly intriguing is that Hahn is a man with access. As the producer of The Lion King and Beauty And The Beast, Hahn was slap-bang in the middle of this story, and perfectly placed to tell it. And the trailer alone has us salivating to see the finished product.
We understand that it's being rolled out in the US from April, with no idea yet of a UK release. But we'll let you know as soon as we know more. For now, enjoy the trailer...
