* Last week, we reported the story that Universal was looking to bring the American Pie movies back to cinemas, with the original cast on board too. And while doing promotional duties for Kevin Smith's incoming Cop Out, Seann William Scott has revealed to ComingSoon.net that he's had a chat about returning.

He told the site that "I've been talking to them about it and there's a possibility. We came up with an awesome idea and I'm kind of at the point where I'm already known as that character forever anyways. As much as I want to do a part like Christoph Waltz in Inglourious Basterds, I did American Pie three times and then versions of that in ten other movies. If it makes sense and if it makes people laugh than maybe."

* Also in Seann William Scott and Kevin Smith news, the latter has offered the former the lead role in his next film, Hit Somebody. Given that Red State has hit financial buffers, Hit Somebody is looking like Smith's next film right now, and it's set to be an ice hockey movie based on the song of the same name from Warren Zevon.

* Cheech & Chong are apparently working on a sequel to their stoner comedy Up In Smoke. They reveal the news in the YouTube clip here...

* Wes Craven is officially down to direct Scream 4, it's now been confirmed. Craven directed the first three films, and will be reuniting again with writer Kevin Williamson and stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette. Filming will start in May, ahead of a 2011 release.

* James Cameron has, unsurprisingly, ruled out any return to the Terminator franchise. Cameron hasn't been involved with the last two films, and he said to MTV, "I have stepped so far away from the Terminator universe. I know what you know at this point. I'm happy with that. I made a decision a way's back to just let it have its life, you know? From my perspective, it's run its course and I don't know what else to say that hasn't been said. Plus, frankly... the soup's kind of been pissed in a little bit by other filmmakers, so I don't have any personal desire to go back to it. So I certainly wouldn't want to be a dog in the manger and disallow my friends from making a little money off it. Why would I do that?" More at MTV here.
