News round-up: Fast & Furious, Avatar, Enchanted 2, War Machine, Underworld

Lots of news stories, once more rounded up in one place. Marvellous.

* Universal has confirmed that it's pressing ahead with a fifth Fast & The Furious movie, which will once again see Vin Diesel and Paul Walker pressing metal. Troublingly, it's looking to call the film Fast 5, which sounds utterly unlike a film with fast cars and bad acting in it. Justin Lin, who directed the last two films in the series, is back behind the camera.
* Avatar has now officially passed Titanic at the US box office, to become American's biggest grossing film of all time. The current gross for the film in the States is $601m, and the worldwide tally is at $2.07bn. Expect $2.1bn to be broken by Monday.
* Disney is working on a sequel to its delightful mix of live action and animation, Enchanted. Enchanted 2 is being written by Jessie Nelson (writer of, er, Fred Claus), and Anne Fletcher (who helmed, er, 27 Dresses) is being lined up to direct. Presumably, Amy Adams will return too, but no news on that yet. According to a report in Variety, the film could even be up for release next year. Blimey.
* Don Cheadle has played down any speculation of there being a War Machine spin-off from the Iron Man movies. Cheadle, who is playing Rhodey in Iron Man II (and thus, by definition, War Machine), doesn't rule out the character coming back to the franchise, as you might expect, but told Wizard magazine, "There won't be a spin-off."
* Finally, Kate Beckinsale may be returning to Underworld for one last adventure. With the next film due out at the start of 2011, Beckinsale is understood to be contractually obliged to appear in the new film, but reports suggest she's not very keen. Bloody Disgusting has more on the story here...
