Scott Pilgrim Vs The World gets release date
Simon Brew
And what a release date: Scott Pilgrim and The Expendables are arriving on the same day. We plan to buy a lottery ticket the same day.

It's a quick story, but a good one. Edgar Wright's new film, the terrific-looking Scott Pilgrim Vs The World (starring Mr Michael Cera), has finally got a firm release date. It's planned that the film will roll out on 13th August 2010, a date which is already circled in our diaries. For that, friends, is the day when Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables rolls into town.
Not to worry, though, as we've already thought this one through. We reckon we could go and see Scott Pilgrim about 8ish, pop off to the pizza place round the corner, and see The Expendables at the latest possible showing that our local fleapit has to offer.
Never let it be said that this site doesn't resolve some of life's complex problems for you.
And if both of these films go to plan, then we may just declare 13th August the finest day of the cinematic calendar.
Oh, in the same round of announcements, it was revealed that Little Fockers, the latest sequel to Meet The Parents, has been pushed back to Christmas from its original July 30th slot. It'll now be out and recycling the same jokes on 22nd December.
