Guy Ritchie set to return for Sherlock Holmes sequel?

DC Comics-adaptation Lobo moves off Guy Ritchie’s slate, as he heads towards Sherlock Holmes 2…
Published on Jan 27, 2010
While it was clear very early on that there would be a second Sherlock Holmes movie, once again bringing together Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law, what was less certain was whether Guy Ritchie would be back behind the camera. Ritchie has, after all, been attached to a film of DC Comics’ Lobo for a little while now, and there was an assumption that that would be his next project.
But it no longer looks like that’s the case, and Ritchie is instead set to jump aboard Sherlock Holmes 2. The Sherlock sequel has a tight production schedule to meet, given that Warner Bros is keen to get it in cinemas for Christmas 2011. And talking to the Los Angeles Times, producer Joel Silver said that “The studio wants us and Guy to focus on making another 'Sherlock Holmes'... So we're trying to see if we can do something quickly with another 'Sherlock Holmes' movie. We have some ideas and some good story points”.
Silver wouldn’t be drawn on whether we could expect Brad Pitt to be on board as Moriarty for Sherlock 2, but he did note that Lobo was still very much on the slate. It’s just going to have a different director now.
Here’s the L.A. Times piece
