New pictures from Cemetery Junction

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are putting the finishing touches to their first movie together, Cemetery Junction. Here’s a bunch of new pics…

We've got to admit, we didn't watch the Golden Globes all the way through, but have since taken great glee in catching up on Ricky Gervais' performance as host of the show. Reading around the Internet since, it seems there's been a mixed reaction to his performance, but personally, I thought he was an absolute hoot. As an ego-pricker extraordinaire, there simply aren't many like him. Perhaps he should be replacing Jonathan Ross as the BBC's new chat show supreme?
Anyway, in the aftermath of his Golden Globes work, new images have been released from Gervais' next film project, Cemetery Junction. This is the first feature film that he's directed alongside Stephen Merchant, with whom, of course, he made The Office and Extras (Gervais co-directed The Invention Of Lying with Matt Robinson), and they've roped in Ralph Fiennes to star, along with Emily Watson and Matthew Goode.
Cemetery Junction is a film set in the 1970s, following a couple of guys working in a building society, trapped, basically, in a small town and hoping to get out. Gervais has described the film as mixing in The Office with Mad Men, and in case you missed it, we've already had a tremendous trailer for the film which beautifully tells you precisely nothing about it.
Now, thanks to Sky Movies HD, there's also a collection of fresh pictures from the film, which give an idea as to how well Gervais and Merchant have captured the 70s look.
You can see the full gallery at Sky here, and if you haven't yet caught the trailer, then you can find it right below. It's a corker...
Cemetery Junction is set for release on 7th April.
