This summer sees a standalone sequel to Predator, the first since Danny Glover took umbrage with said creatures in 1990's Predator 2. Since then, the franchise has been bastardised in a pair of thuddingly shitty Aliens Vs Predator movies, and ours and many other people's fear was that that was it for Predator. Consigned to a future in mash-ups with possibly the odd computer game along the way.

But then Fox did something good, and it - seemingly out of nowhere - greenlit a third film, from an old script from Robert Rodriguez. Rodriguez has done some dusting up work, and in has come Nimrod Antal to direct it. Furthermore, the film - which was only confirmed last summer - is being lined up for release on July 7th.

So, how's it shaping up? It's one of the few big summer films we've not had a trailer for yet so we're not sure, but big thanks to the folks at the excellent AvP Galaxy, who have got their mitts on a collection of pictures from the shoot to at least give us a bit of a peek.
