"You don't need a power to be a superhero."

Once upon a time, we were looking forward desperately to April 2010 because that's when The Expendables was due to come out. But when Stallone's action-fest was knocked back to August, it looked like early April might offer slim pickings. That was until Matthew Vaughn's film of Mark Millar and John Romita Jr's Kick Ass stepped up.

To say that Kick Ass looks like one of the best films of the year would offer no understatement, a point cemented by Duncan's review of the rough cut that he saw last year. You can find the link to that here.

Ahead of the film's release, a brand new trailer has now been released too, and it continues, from where we're sitting, to look downright brilliant. We'll confidently predict too that if this site is around in a decade's time, we'll still be talking about the character of Hit Girl then.
