The latest news surrounding one of 2010's must-see films: it's Kick-Ass!
Published on Dec 7, 2009
Just a few bits and bobs surrounding what looks like one of the absolute must-see films of 2010: Kick-Ass. It's based on Mark Millar's comic book, and the screenplay has been written by Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman (the Stardust team), with Vaughn on directing duties.
Firstly, in case you missed it, we can reveal that the film is officially awesome. Duncan managed to get into an early screening of it last week, and you can read his report here.
It would be fair to say that Duncan liked this a lot.
Furthermore, a new poster for the film has premiered over at Aint It Cool News. This time, it's a character poster of Red Mist, as played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse (better known to you and me as McLovin from Superbad).
Then, director Matthew Vaughn has been talking to ReelzChannel about the film, and in particular his disdain for CGI. Vaughn said, "I hate [CGI]. F*cking green screen. It's like, for me, CGI is for when you really can't do it in camera. I use it when I have to, but I just think it's fake."
Vaughn also told the site ReelLoop that "It's got a lot of tongue-in-cheek humour, so it's not gratuitous. But it is violent. Very violent."
Splendid.
Kick-Ass is currently scheduled for 16th April 2010.
