Extended new TV spot for Avatar

Fox shows off yet more footage from Avatar with a very long TV spot...
Published on Nov 16, 2009
During an episode of the hit US TV show Glee at the end of last week, 20th Century Fox took the opportunity to premiere the latest TV spot for James Cameron's Avatar. Well, we call it a TV spot, but given that it runs for a full three and a half minutes, it's more an extended trailer than anything else.
It's interesting the way Fox is approaching this now, as it does seem to be throwing plenty of material out there in a bid to get people hooked in to seeing the film. We can't remember the last film to get over three minutes of it broadcast in a TV spot, but Avatar is breaking many of the conventional rules on how to promote a film in advance of its December bow.
We don't think we're allowed, sadly, to present the trailer for you here, so instead of that, we're going to have to point you in the direction of a YouTube link. We should suggest, though, that if you want to see Avatar knowing as little as possible, this is another promo that seemingly gives you quite a lot of story. And again, even though we're doing ourselves no favours here, it also strikes us as the kind of material that demands the biggest screen you can possibly find.
Here's the link to the TV spot...
Avatar is out on 18th December.
