Sylvester Stallone talks The Expendables

Want to know more about the moment in The Expendables when Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger meet on screen at last?
Published on Nov 2, 2009
Last week, we had the pleasure of bringing you the news that the scene in The Expendables that many of us are dying to see - the union of Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger - has finally been shot. And in the aftermath of what's been called the "$15 billion scene", writer/director Sylvester Stallone has been spilling the beans to Entertainment Weekly.
Stallone has revealed that the pivotal scene between the three will take place in a church. Willis is reportedly a nasty piece of work in the film, and he summons Stallone's mercenary for a face-to-face meeting. However, mid-meeting, that's when another mercenary happens to walk in. And that would be Arnie. In short, Willis is playing Sly and Arnie off against each other, each playing characters with some unpleasant history between one another. We think we'll be sitting there with geek-bumps a mile high.
Stallone reveals that he feels the scene is more than just the cameo it's being billed as, and that it's more likely to run for around five minutes of screen time in the final cut of the film. The whole scene was shot in six hours, before everyone had to head off in their separate directions.
You might have gauged over the past few months just how pumped up we are about The Expendables, and we're still gutted that the release date was knocked back from April 2010 to August 2010, especially as the film is likely to be done and dusted by early next year at the latest. It is, however, most certainly one of the must-see movies of 2010.
See you there opening night?
