I'll be the first to admit it: Rocky Balboa was a really very pleasant surprise, a fitting end to a solid cinematic saga. In fact, take Rocky V out of the frame, and the Rocky films have always consistently delivered. And I've spilled my love for Rocky IV too many times on this site to do it again just yet.

However, I'm still struggling to believe that Sylvester Stallone is actually considering doing a seventh Rocky movie. Yet that's what current reports suggest he's up to. Over at Teen Say, Stallone has given an interview in which he says of a future Rocky movie, "I know I'll probably make a fool of myself if I make another 'Rocky' film after turning 60. I also know there's gonna be a lot of criticism. Even my wife says, 'Don't do it. You're embarrassing the kids'. But I told her, 'If I don't try I'll be a really unhappy man. You have to do it. Artists like me have to go through the dark over and over again."

At first when I read this, I thought it was some kind of wind up. And yet the current thinking is that once he's done with the awesome-looking Expendables, and once he's then through with Rambo V, that it'll be time to make a bit of extra room in the Rocky box set.

Where else, exactly, can the character of Rocky Balboa go, though? Short of, well, dying? The last film may as well have been sci-fi - and don't get me wrong, I really liked it - considering that it was basically a 60+ fighter against the current world boxing champion (albeit one with a slight injury). Who will he fight next? The A-Team or something?

We wait and see whether this all actually gets confirmed. But we wouldn't put it past the man, much as we love him...
