Robert Downey Jr gets down to action in the latest trailer for Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes.
Published on Oct 21, 2009
Arriving on Christmas Day in the US and the day after in the UK, Guy Ritchie's new take on Sherlock Holmes stars Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law as Holmes and Watson respectively, and from earlier clips has come across a bit rawer and more action-packed than the Holmes productions of old.
This latest TV trailer, which runs to a good two and a half minutes, does little to dampen that impression, and with that in mind, it's set to divide thoughts as much as the earlier promos have. There seems to be some who think this looks like a daft messing around with the whole Holmes legacy, and others who quite like that the look of what Ritchie has done here. The trump card is likely to be Robert Downey Jr, who we'd pay to watch read the phone book at times.
You can find the trailer below, and if rumours are to be believed, then a sequel is already in the early stages of script and story work too.
