Ivan Reitman on board for Ghostbusters 3?
Simon Brew
Could the third outing for the Ghostbusters actually have its original director back on board?
Published on Oct 9, 2009
It's been a bit of a puzzle trying to work out who would be helming the third Ghostbusters film, given that the man who made the first two - Ivan Reitman - had seemingly expressed no interest in doing so.
Over at Bloody Disgusting, however, the site has broken the news that, in its words, "I have straight up confirmed, 100%, without a shadow of a doubt that Ivan Reitman, director of Ghost Busters and Ghostbusters II, is in fact attached to get behind the camera for Ghostbusters 3."
The site does concede that just because he's attached now doesn't necessarily mean he'll be the one waving the megaphone around come day one of the shoot. But it does seem that, right now, it's very much a case of if Ivan Reitman wants to direct Ghostbusters 3, the job is his. Apparently, he's yet to make a firm decision on that, though.
The news that he is in the director's chair at the moment, if it turns out to be true, is fresh, however. And we suspect that there'll be confirmation one way or another in the months ahead.
