If you’re thinking; ‘I’ve heard nothing of this…’, well, it was apparently the whole thing was Disney's Top Secret Project until Bob Hoskins (another Zemekis alumni from the brilliant Who Framed Roger Rabbit) blew the whole shebang in an interview earlier this month.

Not only did he let slip that the film was going to be made in the same motion capture animation style that made The Polar Express so unique; he also told Empire Online that Jim Carrey is part of the plans too; pencilled in to play both Jacob Marley, and his three ghosts. Pretty cool, we reckon.

Of course, this is all early days for this project; and reports of an all-star cast (especially one containing Michael J Fox, who – let us not forget – is battling Parkinson’s Disease) may evaporate... certainly when the potential bill is put on the table.

But, we can enjoy the possibility for a moment, can’t we? It will, however, have to go some way to beat the glory that is The Muppets' version of Dickens' classic tale, I'm sure you'll agree.

Simon’s note: John and I disagree on Back To The Future Part III, which he thinks is shit and I think is great. Clearly he’s wrong, though.
