James McTeigue’s Ninja Assassin prepares for its November launch with some new promotional material…
Published on Sep 11, 2009
Director James McTeigue seems to get linked with plenty of projects at the moment, most prominently the next outing for the Superman saga. At the end of August, he chatted about his thoughts for the franchise, and how he thought that the franchise needed to go in a darker direction. He also said that he'd be looking to do a complete reboot were he to get involved. Interesting stuff, but given that the Superman series still looks stuck in development hell, there's not too much there to really be excited about.
Instead, the V For Vendetta director and Wachowski Brothers collaborator has been putting the finishing touches to his upcoming Ninja Assassin. The trailer that was released in the summer - which we've added below - inevitably focuses on the film's heavy action core, and demonstrates McTeigue's background on The Matrix. And as the film's release date approaches, a couple of new stills from the film have been released too. So we've brought you those too.
The film is released on 25th November in the US, and two days later in the UK. And while it's snuck under the radar thanks to the loud noise of summer blockbuster season, don't write this one off, as it may yet prove to be something of a sleeper...
