As filming gets under way on Ant-Man, Marvel releases the first official image. Take a look here...

As we reported earlier today, Ant-Man has managed to ride out its bumpy path to production, and went before cameras over the last couple of days or so. We learned that the core cast of Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly have been joined by Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Abby Ryder Forston, Michael Pena, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, John Slattery and Gregg Turkington, and that it's all being shot, for the most part, in Atlanta Georgia.

Peyton Reed is now the director, replacing Edgar Wright, and Marvel will no doubt be hoping that Ant-Man's worst troubles are behind it; unless the release date changes, Reed has less than a year to get the movie ready before its release next summer.

Until then, Marvel has released an official image from the production, showing Paul Rudd in hooded and apparently bruised form as central character Scott Lang. This image, we're guessing, is from point in the story before he becomes the heroic Ant-Man.

Ant-Man is scheduled for release on the 17th July 2015.
