Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones adaptation: new pictures released
Simon Brew
Catch the latest images from Peter Jackson's upcoming film of Alice Sebold's book, The Lovely Bones...
The Lovely Bones, his adaptation of the book of the same name by Alice Sebold, was supposed to be - in theory - Peter Jackson's smaller project, after making four huge blockbusters in a row (three Lord Of The Rings films, and his King Kong remake).
Yet take a look at the latest set of stills to be released from the film, and you'd never guess. Appreciating that even before he first went to Middle Earth that Jackson had demonstrated how adept he was at maximising the impact of lower budgets - and I'm thinking Heavenly Creatures in particular - the striking visuals of these new images leaves me hankering to see the film on the biggest screen I can possibly find.
The usual drill: you can click on any of them to make them magically bigger.
We don't get the film in the UK until 29th January 2010, although it makes its American bow on 11th December 2009.
