Mr del Toro. He's got himself a new job....

Guillermo del Toro's next film has a release date, along with a few other new Universal films....

Universal Pictures has been busy putting its slate of projects together for the next year or two, and it's just announced a collection of new release dates for some of its upcoming films.

The one we're keenest to see is Guillermo del Toro's next film, Crimson Peak. This sees him back in horror cinema, and he's co-written the script with Matthew Robbins. Mia Wasikowka, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam lead the cast, and we now know that the movie will be arriving on Friday October 16th 2015. In the US anyway.

A bit closer is a creepy movie for this year, Ouija, which has an October 24th 2014 release date. It's a supernatural thriller from Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes company, and the title gives you a clue as to what's at the heart of the film. Stiles White is directing.

Also later this year, Liam Neeson starts in the big screen adaptation of A Walk Among The Tombstones, that we can now expect on September 19th. Dan Stevens co-stars, Scott Frank directs and has written the screenplay.

Back into 2015, and Pitch Perfect 2 - which is being directed by Elizabeth Banks - will be in summer season. That's due on May 15th 2015.

And then there's a new project from Illumination Entertainment, The Untitled Pets Project. Louis C K, Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart are on voicing duties here, and the director of the first two Despicable Me films, Chris Renaud, is one of the helmers here. The movie is due on February 12th 2016.

These are all US release dates incidentally. We'll keep you posted on the films concerned.
