Michael Douglas on being cast in Ant-Man
Hot on the heels of his casting confirmation. Michael Douglas has been chatting about what attracted him to Edgar Wright's Ant-Man movie...
Further to yesterday's news regarding Michael Douglas' casting as Hank Pym in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man, a move that has been greeted with an overwhelmingly positive response, the actor himself has taken time to comment on what attracted him to the role. "I've been dying to do a Marvel picture for so long", he's admitted. "The script is really fun, the director is really good. Dylan [the actor's 13 year old son] will love it. He'll have a picture he can see".
To be fair, it's hard to imagine Douglas will be in a hurry to show him Behind The Candelabra. That said, he picked up a Golden Globe for his work as Liberace in that over the weekend. There aren't too many movies on Douglas' CV that you'd call family entertainment though, when you come to think about it.
Douglas went on to comment on his desire to surprise audiences. "Sometimes – like [when] they didn't see you for Liberace – you've got to shake them up a little bit and have some fun".
Douglas will star alongside Paul Rudd in Ant-Man, which is set for a July 2015 release.
