Star Trek to hit DVD and Blu-ray on November 17th?

Arguably the best blockbuster of the summer, JJ Abrams' Star Trek reboot closes in on a November DVD and Blu-ray release...

News from the US suggests that Paramount is lining up a mid-November bow for what’s turned out to be the best blockbuster of the summer season. Star Trek is set to debut on DVD and Blu-ray in America on November 17th (and not the start of October, as originally planned), and we’d wager that means the UK release will be the day before, on the 16th.
According to Video Business in America, the star attraction at least of the Region 1 release could be what’s being described as the ‘augmented reality’ packaging. This equates to a hologram, that if you hold a webcam in front of, will allow you to unlock a tour of the USS Enterprise. Sounds a bit different.
Once the film and the extra features are officially confirmed, we’ll bring them your way. But the early word is that this is going to be an extras-packed release, with little sign that something’s being held back for a fuller release further down the line.
Here’s hoping, anyway…
