Co-creators and screenwriters Iain Morris and Damon Beasley have revealed the setting for The Inbetweeners 2...

The fact that The Inbetweeners Movie was such a huge success made the sequel something of an inevitability, even though writers Damon Beesley and Iain Morris were initially reluctant to press ahead on a second film. That said, the first took £58m at the box office, and clearly there's demand for a further Inbetweeners adventure.

Details of a sequel, until now, have been somewhat unclear. But now, the officiall announcement has been forthcoming, and it's been revealed that the follow-up will see the four leads heading off to Australia. Furthermore, Morris and Beesley will be taking on directing duties this time around as well, in addition to penning the script.

"We can't say too much as we don't want to ruin any of the jokes for you", the pair revealed in the official announcement statement. "But what we can exclusively reveal is that there will be kangaroos. And Australians. And possibly Koalas. Oh, and obviously Jay, Will, Neil and Simon, providing they're let into the country. Thanks so much for your support, we're hoping to deliver a film that you'll enjoy even more than the last one".

The Inbetweeners 2 is set for release in August 2014. Production starts imminently.
