A Christmas Carol: a genuinely impressive movie poster

Fed up with the formula of the modern day movie poster? Then check out what Disney has done with A Christmas Carol…

If you're fed up with movie posters that slap a couple of heads on a sheet of paper, do some Photoshop work and then hit the print button, then take a look of admiration in the direction of Disney's new artwork for its upcoming A Christmas Carol.
The film sees Robert Zemeckis retelling the classic Dickens story, building on the motion capture techniques he used to bring The Polar Express to the big screen. And it ‘stars' Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge, whose likeness you can see in the design here.
It reminds me of the classic one-sheet that Disney released for Beauty And The Beast back in the early 1990s, and just simply looks as if someone bothered. Boasting some degree of imagination and artistic talent, it also has a slightly sinister edge to it, that you don't always expect when you see that Disney logo on there.
This is, as you might have worked out, the international poster for the film, and the movie is set for release in November. Personally, I had no interest in seeing through yet another take of A Christmas Carol - the Muppets and Bill Murray nailed it between them for me - but I'm getting more and more interested in this one now...
