T.J. Hooker heading to the big screen
Simon Brew
There’s a T.J. Hooker movie coming. But will William Shatner be involved?
Published on Jul 6, 2009
Here's another television show getting the big screen treatment that allows us once more to play a game of whether William Shatner will or will not be appearing. This time, the project in question is not Star Trek, but T.J. Hooker, which Variety this morning reports is the latest in line for a film outing.
There's been no word on casting as of yet, so there's hope for The Shat yet, but Chuck Russell is circling the director's chair, it's reported. Russell previously gave the world The Scorpion King and The Mask, as well as the Arnie movie Eraser. Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson are scripting the project, and they've got, er, Wild Wild West on their CV. Yikes. The pair, incidentally, are also attached to script the remake of Short Circuit.
There's no word on when the project will be moving ahead to production, but we'll keep you posted....
