Iron Man 2: Stan Lee cameo details

Simon Brew

Just what will Stan Lee be up to in Iron Man 2? Plus news of his appearance in the game Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 as well…

Published on Jun 29, 2009

Just like having a Spider-Man movie without a Bruce Campbell cameo should be officially legislated against, don't even think about bringing a movie of any of Stan Lee's work to the screen if you're not willing to give him a bit of time in the film.

While it's a non-Marvel movie, Mallrats, that's for this writer's money given us the best Stan Lee cameo to date, it seems that his role in Iron Man 2 may be a beefier than usual. According to the site NukeTheFridge (surely that has to be a Crystal Skull reference!), Stan Lee will be playing TV interviewer King, a man who will be grilling Tony Stark on Larry King Live.

The site is also reporting that Stan Lee is going to be a hidden character, a senator, in the upcoming Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2.

Iron Man 2 arrives next summer, and you can read more on the story here.

Personally, I cannot STAND his cameos -- they stop the movie and pull me right out. The cameo in the first Spider-Man just made me groan. At least it isn't nearly as bad as the worst cameo of all time: Bobby Brown, Ghostbusters 2.

" NukeTheFridge (surely that has to be a Crystal Skull reference!)," "NukeTheFridge" IS a Crystal Skull reference. It refers to a moment when a movie or show go too far and breaks all believability. We can accept Indy and that kid falling out of a plane in a rubber raft and using it to slide down a mountain, but escaping a nuclear blast by stepping into a fridge is too far. Nuking The Fridge is used interchangeably or as a replacement for “Jumping the Shark” which owes its questionable existence to a Zen moment in a HAPPY DAYS episode. (you can not watch this episode, it must be experienced at a higher level and meditated on) Sorry I only have one piece of knowledge and had a need to share

I agree with Postmark. Nothing against Stan, but the cameos are getting a little tiresome.
