David Fincher is a very talented man, who has, last time we counted, made at least three quite brilliant movies in the last 15 years. Even his lesser films in that time frame have been some of the more engaging that Hollywood has churned out, and thus it's fair to say that we're among the many that'd buy a ticket for pretty much whatever he came up with next.

But is he really going to be directing the movie about the creation of Facebook?

According to reports doing the rounds this morning, that's the project that he's being heavily linked with. The film, called The Social Network, already has the mighty talent of Aaron Sorkin penning the script, and the plan is for shooting to start later this year. Columbia Pictures, reports Variety, is now in "advanced talks" with Fincher to helm the picture, which will focus on Facebook's evolution.

Can I say it? If the names Sorkin or Fincher weren't appearing in relation to it, I can think of few films I'd personally want to watch less. Am I alone with that?
