Simon Brew

The full length trailer for Inglourious Basterds arrives. And you can catch a glimpse of Tarantino's latest here...

Published on Jun 23, 2009

Complete with Brad Pitt giving the orders, the full length trailer for Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Inglourious Basterds has finally arrived. It's mainly Pitt-focused, although we do get a glimpse at some other members of the cast too. It plays on the Tarantino factor as you might expect, and there's an angry Hitler in there too.

Expect the movie on August 21st. And you can watch the trailer down below...

This looks thoroughly unpleasant.

Again, another reason not to watch anything tarantino directs. Grotesque violence and torture is alright as long as you're the good guys. Looks lazy and unimaginative with gore and torture used as polyfiller to smooth over gaping holes in the plot. meh.

I dont disagree with you guys. But im pretty sure this movie is not supposed to be much more than a film about Jewish American soldiers brutally killing Nazis in an attempt to frighten the German soldiers. So im not sure what else yuor looking for. Its a QT movie. Rarely are they deep and moving, its usually just a movie that shocks you, and this looks like exactly that.

With all due respect people, screw that (seriously, if you wanna have a moral discussion about violence in QT movies you're, like, 15 years too late), what I wanna know is why do movie posters always look better in Italian?

Gore sells tickets. Sad but true. And Nazis are still acceptable universal targets, even today. And Quentin understands this.

Not wanting a moral discussion at all. Merely pointing out that the trailer showcases what looks like a reprehensible film that actively celebrates violence in a somewhat comedic manner. I actually quite like many of Tarantino's films but this trailer doesn't suggest any of the intelligence I think some of his earlier work included. You can't tell me that Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction were filled with violence or gore because I'm not buying it. Most of the violence in Pulp Fiction happens off screen as does the truly shocking moment in Reservoir Dogs, the ear cutting scene. Other than that they portray no more violence than many westerns. I also don't believe that they were ever pitched as celebrations of violence, as this trailer suggests Inglorious Basterds is (the chest-beating, the guitar-fuelled backtrack, the ridiculous 'and I want my scalps'). A shame as it's put me right off a film I was looking forward to.

Its a trailer.... Given the way Hollywood makes trailers especially for action / war movies, I think you are looking WAY WAY to deep... into something that is about as deep as Paris Hiltons views on the effect of rain fall on sub Saharan Africa,

Hollywood makes trailers especially for action/war movies? Spurious comment if ever I heard one. I am allowed an opinion though which happens to be that this trailer is unpleasant.
