If there's a role right now that involves the need for some kind of female action star, then it almost seems inevitable that Megan Fox is going to be linked with it. Her latest film, the small independent drama Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, is heading to cinemas in the next few weeks, and she's already hard at work for next summer's Jonah Hex.

Furthermore, when reports came in that the Tomb Raider franchise was being rebooted, and that a new Lara Croft was required, whose name was touted in double quick time? Yep, Megan herself.

So realistically, we should have seen this one coming. According to Cinefools, Megan Fox's name is now in the running for the proposed new big screen version of Buffy The Vampire Slayer that we reported on a few weeks ago.

There's still no Joss Whedon involvement in the project so far as we can tell, and there's no official word on whether Fox is likely to be first choice. But given the state of the Megan Fox rumour mill these days, it doesn't strike us as hugely unlikely that her name is on a casting director's piece of paper.
