Robert Rodriguez seems to want to take on Ridley Scott's current mantle as the most over-committed director in the world. With Predator, Nervewrackers and two Sin City sequels to contend with (among various other rumours), he is now set to add a Jetsons movie to that growing production slate.
Rodriguez confirmed to MTV that he wants to get production on the live-action version of the future-family cartoon show going next year.
“I’ve been developing [The Jetsons] for awhile,” he told MTV. "We’re writing the script right now." The earlier version of the Jetsons script by Fanboys writer Adam F. Goldberghas reportedly been abandoned.
Though Rodriguez kept schtum about possible casting, we think it's unlikely to generate quite the same interest as the earlier Flintstones movie/s. This could be one TV>movie adaptation that comfortably trumps the original.
