Surrogates trailer

What the Terminator 3 director did next, with a little help from Bruce Willis…

Published on May 26, 2009

Remember director Jonathan Mostow? He was the man who gave us the excellent Breakdown, the historically-flawed-but-still-strong U-571, and then took on the poisoned chalice of the post-James Cameron Terminator franchise with Rise Of The Machines.

He's nowhere to be seen on the credits of Terminator: Salvation, but then he's been hard at work on something that looks just a little bit more interesting.

Surrogates, which is arriving in September, is based on the graphic novel of the same name, and stars Bruce Willis, who at one point is sporting a haircut so dodgy that it'd make Kevin Costner and Harrison Ford squirm.

The trailer for the film is available now, and it's looking really quite interesting. It also does a far better job of explaining the concept of the film than my measly words could, so it's probably best for all concerned to take a look at that, rather than listening to what I have to say....

The film is out in the UK and USA on 25th September.

Looks interesting, if it lives up to the trailer it's gonna be great....

Wow, I hate these "watch the entire movie in two minutes" trailers. Why can't they pique our curiosity without telling us EVERYTHING.

I agree, SeymourCat. They played this before T4 and the guy sitting in a row behind me said "wow, what a good movie that was." I wonder if the director will release a "but wait, there's more!" statement soon so his movie won't tank.

I'll still go see it- true, trailers should mainly just give you an idea of the basics of the film and mostly the emotional chord-and no more... The best ones did that. However, in the last 35 years of filmmaking, there's been great films that had awful trailers, and MANY MORE that were vice versa
