Further casting news arises from Marvel’s upcoming Thor movie…
Published on May 19, 2009
Kenneth Branagh's upcoming film of Marvel's Thor, it was revealed yesterday, is closing in on its leading man, with Chris Hemsworth rumoured to be about to snag the title role.
But what good is a Thor without a Loki to fight? Marvel's clearly pondered the same question, and has announced that Tom Hiddleston has been cast in the role. Hiddleston has actually worked with Kenneth Branagh before, both on stage and in the recent television production of Wallander.
His other credits include - yes! - an episode of Casualty, and also Suburban Shootout. Thor will be his first major blockbuster.
Thor is set for release in May 2010.
