Superman: Man Of Steel

Russell Crowe has been chatting about Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, Man Of Steel...

Currently seen lending his acting and singing talents in Les Miserables, Russell Crowe has found the time to chat about his role in Man Of Steel while on promotional duties.

Chatting to Reelz, he said of the film that “It's very complicated, it's really complex. I don't think anybody has really tried to get into the psychology of what it must be like to be Superman and what people would really respond like in a modern society if somebody like that just popped up."

"I think Zack Snyder was given a great deal of responsibility because when it comes to comic book heroes and superhero films the top of the food chain is Superman. I think the biggest indicator for me of how it's looking is that the financier of the film has sent me gushing emails, he just loves it.”

He continues: “I'm really looking forward to seeing it, it's a massive undertaking. It takes you on the ground to Krypton, it takes you to a planet where the sun is four times larger than ours and you get to experience that stuff and if you've seen the trailers you realise that this Superman is not just floating through the air held up by a wire, this Superman is super sonic. I'm really looking forward to the way people will respond to it.”

It's certainly sounding good, based on the word from those involved, but then again they're hardly going to declare it a disaster at this stage to be fair. Fortunately the trailers look rather smashing, so fingers crossed this turns out to be a highlight of a particularly strong looking blockbuster season this summer.

Super excited for this man! Superman is most certainly top of the food chain, the greatest comic book hero of all time so let's hope he gets a movie worthy of what the Nolans did for the 2nd greatest comic book hero of all time.

Looks very interesting, but the one thing I'm struggling with is the idea of a Superman movie without that brilliant, iconic, hair-stands-up-on-the-back-of-your-neck main theme written by John Williams! I know they used it in the last attempt, but that was still the 3rd best Superman movie ever made...

They HAVE to use that theme! It would make no sense not too, it'd be like a Star Wars film without that opening. New people, same music! (at least for franchises)

It's impossible to understate the importance of this film. It will in many ways influence the future success of DC films in the post-Dark Knight Trilogy era. 2013 will show us whether Superman is ready to lead DC.

SUPER excited for this MAN?

Is that on purpose? lol

I HATE Russell Crowe, but this movieis gonna be Sooo Awsome
