Rachel Weisz talks Oz: The Great And Powerful
One of three witches in Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great And Powerful, Rachel Weisz has been chatting about her role as the villain...
Sam Raimi will be quite busy on promotional duties this year with The Evil Dead remake being released in April and his first directorial effort since 2009's rather excellent Drag Me to Hell released a month earlier. The film in question is of course is Oz: The Great And Powerful, which will see James Franco play the titular magician who attempts to outwit a trio of witches played by Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz.
While we may have a bit more of a wait before Raimi goes on full on promotional mode, Weisz has been chatting about the film:
“It was a fun idea to be playing someone who is really, really bad, I can't think of any roles that I've had like that before... she's really, really a bad person and she revels in being bad.” She continues: “It's a disney film, so I shouldn't say she is 'turned on' by evil, but that's what it is like... she enjoys it, like the meaner she is the more pleasure she gets.”
Oz: The Great And The Powerful hits UK cinemas on the 8th March.
