Arnold Schwarzenegger on Terminator: Salvation cameo

Arnie’s been chatting about his planned appearance in the new Terminator film. And he’s happy to do it, as long as he doesn’t have to, er, do anything…

Trying to work out whether Arnold Schwarzenegger will or won't be appearing in the upcoming Terminator: Salvation has become something of a challenge of late. One minute he is, one minute he isn't, one minute he might be. The last we heard, he was in it.
However, according to the Los Angeles Times, things aren't quite that straightforward. It's been chatting with the Austrian Oak, and he's made it quite clear that he's happy to be in the film, but that he, er, doesn't have time to be in the film.
To clarify: it seems that Arnie is fine with popping up in the new Terminator movie, but he won't be shooting any material himself due to lack of time. Instead, that leaves the production time presumably excising material from previous films and slotting them into McG's upcoming blockbuster. The exact quote from Arnie reads, "I made it very clear that I don't have the time to do the movie. I said that I would be willing to be in the movie if they get the technology together, and so they are working on that right now."
This, then, seems to bring the idea back into play where Arnie's face would be digitally mapped onto someone else. Or something like that anyway.
We've not got long to find out, anyway. Terminator: Salvation will be hitting US cinemas on May 21st, with the UK release following - grrr - a few weeks after that...

The Terminator. So just how will the new film incorporate Arnie, then?
