Jonathan Nolan on the Justice League and The Avengers
The Dark Knight co-writer shares his thoughts on Joss Whedon's The Avengers, and the upcoming Justice League film...
With The Dark Knight Rises out on Blu-ray in time for Christmas, and news of Justice League trickling through steadily, Empire has caught up with Jonathan Nolan to chat about Justice League and The Avengers. And The Dark Knight Rises co-writer has some interesting things to say.
Firstly, addressing the idea of Batman in Justice League, he admits that "I'm incredibly excited". Nolan went on to add that "I was a big fan Batman fan when I was a kid. In fact he was the only comic-book character I really liked".
Nolan added that "I went through a brief spell where I was reading Captain Britain, because I was an English kid living in the States, and Wolverine for 30 seconds, Spider-Man too, but really Batman was the one. And I love that there are different versions of the character. I love the context of The Justice League, he's kind of the black sheep of that family". There have, of course, been rumours that Jonathan Nolan might get the call for Justice League, but we'd be surprised if that happened. He's hardly likely to be short of interesting projects.
Nolan also revealed that "To me, Joss Whedon is a god". Declaring himself a massive fan of Whedon's work, Nolan admitted that "I thought The Avengers was just an incredible achievement."
There's more on all of this over at Empire.
