A new interview with Stan Lee suggests that both Doctor Strange and Black Panther are on the path to the big screen...

The movie adaptations of Marvel's Doctor Strange and Black Panther have been rumoured for some time now, the latter of which has Noel Clarke particularly interested. And it now seems as though both are heading into development, according to Stan Lee himself.

Whilst we have struggled to find a full transcript from the interview he did at the Savannah Film Fest, where the news arose, Ace Showbiz passed on some quotes from the great man.

On Black Panther and Doctor Strange, he said that “Oh, they are all being made into movies! I can tell you there will definitely be a Doctor Strange movie!” He then added that “Black Panther is being developed, one of my favourites... the Inhumans.. all the heroes will eventually be made into movies.”

He also confirmed what we already know by stating that Ant-Man is being made, and he elaborated on his role as executive producer. “I have very little control. I don't see the script, occasionally I have lunch with the director or a star, like the guy making Ant-Man, I don't remember his name – I don't remember names.”

That would be Edgar Wright.

“We talk about the characters. But all I do for all the movies are the cameos really. Then when the movie comes out I am excited to see it just like all of you. I'm seeing it for the first time.”

It's still usually best to wait until Marvel's Kevin Feige comes out and confirms the above the comments, but it's nonetheless interesting that both films remain on the radar. More news on the various Marvel adaptations when it's available.

Stan Lee is not a reliable source for corporate Marvel news as you point out.

He is no more than a figurehead these days and deserves his chance to bask in the glory of his creations however I seriously doubt he has any inside line on what Fiege is planning,

Jim Cavizel would be a great choice for Doctor Strange

I'm still waiting for a Ms Marvel movie... Please?

Doctor Strange was always one of my top 3 Marvel characters, up with Spidey and Thor. The important thing in making a "Strange" movie would be to avoid the kind of effects in "Green Lantern", a brilliant comic character ruined by the film! I agree with Action Jackson that Jim Cavizel would be good in that part. Alternatively, how about Charles Dance? He would add maybe a little necessary gravitas, since Dr. Strange had greying temples.

Get Michael Sheen for Strange.

He'd be great. A man of his talent doesn't deserve to be stuck doing tat like the Underworld movies...

Wasn't there a rumour of mr Aragon being up for the role of Strange

Not to mention Twilight. Sweet mother of mercy.......

Isn't Dr Strange rumoured to be in 'Thor 2' in some capacity?
