Jason Statham in Parker: first trailer
Jason Statham hurts people and dresses like a priest in the first trailer for his next movie, Parker…
Part of us hoping that Parker might be about a posh brand of pen, the chauffeur out of Thunderbirds, or those coats people sometimes wear. It isn’t, though. It’s a Jason Statham movie.
By now, we know what this means. Over the past decade, ‘Statham’ has ceased to be a mere surname – it’s now a word meaning ‘to punch, kick, head butt or otherwise knock to the ground’. Okay, so I’ve made that up, but give it a few years, and it’ll happen.
Anyway, so Jason Statham’s latest film is Parker, in which he plays a thief who’s double-crossed by his crew and left for dead. Later, he teams up with the feisty Leslie (Jennifer Lopez), and resolves to get his stolen cash back. All this, of course, is an excuse for our hero to break the noses and generally Statham every member of the supporting cast, including Taylor Hackford, Michael Chiklis and Nick Nolte, of all people.
The first trailer, which you can find below, also gives us the edifying sight of Mr Statham dressed as a priest, and even attempting to pose as a stereotypical Texan. It’s all edifying stuff, I’m sure you’ll agree, and actually looks quite classily shot.
“When I start something, I always follow through,” Statham says between fist fights. You can all see Statham follow through for yourselves when Parker opens on the 25th January 2013.
