DiCaprio rebooting WarGames?

Eschewing a nice game of chess, Hollywood's eternal teenager Leonardo DiCaprio has his eye on 80s treasure WarGames...

Cinematical noticed something interesting on Production Weekly's twitter feed. There's not a great deal of meat to this morsel, but apparently Leonardo DiCaprio wants to reboot the cult (and, frankly, highly commercial) 1983 nerd hit WarGames.
DiCaprio's production company Appian Way currently has a vast slate of ambitious projects listed, including the long-awaited adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle, currently scheduled for release in 2011, and Akira, set for the same year.
It's unclear whether a potential remake/boot would be a period piece or a modern re-imagining. If we're unlucky, Tic-Tac-Toe could turn out to be a DirectX10 RPG. And where's the fun in that?
