A hard man made of wax? Madame Tussauds to unveil a more-than-usually lifelife celebrity mannequin...
Published on Mar 28, 2008
On April 2nd one of the cinema’s great immobile fizzogs will be immortalised in its native material – stiff wax. Madame Tussaud’s is set to introduce the stoic lineaments of Bourne star Matt Damon to the most famous and-long running waxworks exhibition in the world.
Described as “the most technologically advanced ever to be unveiled at Madame Tussauds”, one of the mannequin’s eyes is actually a camera that will record the reactions of visitors to the new feature and project them onto a large screen.
Asked if capturing Damon’s expression was a challenge, fictional Tussaud’s staff said they had initially drawn a blank – and got a 100% likeness. It’s not known whether heart-throb Damon will be attending the unveiling, or whether security staff will be insisting that he wears different clothes to the replicant.
