Fresh rewrite ordered for the Daredevil reboot
The new Daredevil movie still seems quite a way away, as a fresh writer is brought in to take a stab at the script...
There had been rumblings over the past week or two that all was not well with the script for the planned reboot of Daredevil. And those rumblings may have been proven to be true.
The film, which is being developed by 20th Century Fox under the guidance of director David Slade, is seemingly getting a rewrite now, with the news that David James Kelly has been hired to take a fresh stab at the project.
According to Deadline, the planned basis for the storyline will be the Born Again arc, originally penned by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli. In that arc, Matt Murdoch's secret and double life is uncovered by The Kingpin, and thus used against him.
There's no word yet on a timescale for the movie, and we're unsure if Fox is up against a specific deadline on this one to prevent the rights to Daredevil reverting back to Marvel and Disney. We'll keep you posted, though...
