Scarlett Johansson set to return for Iron Man 3, new details appear
A new casting call reveals that Scarlett Johansson is back for Iron Man 3, as well as some small story details...
We’re merely weeks away from Robert Downey Jr and Scarlett Johansson sharing the screen in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers, as Iron Man and Black Widow respectively. But it’s not going to be long before they’re in each other’s company again, as production on next summer’s Iron Man 3 is set to commence shortly.
Over at Feature Film Casting, a casting call has gone out, which reveals some previously unknown details about the film. Thus, we now know that Johansson will definitely be returning for Iron Man 3 as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow. Don Cheadle, too, is returning as Rhodey, and Gwyneth Paltrow will be back as well, as Pepper Potts.
The site has also posted some story details, which read thus:
“The storyline is being described by writer-director Shane Black as being a Tom Clancy-thriller, with Iron Man fighting real world villains. Black stated, “the studio wasn't happy with the result of Iron Man 2, as a result that pretty much came about due to a rushed production schedule in an attempt to hit a release date rather than simply make a good film, but I digress. Iron Man 3 will not be another, 'two men in iron suits fighting each other’”.
