Michael Fassbender on Prometheus
Michael Fassbender has been nattering about the eagerly-awaited Prometheus, and working with Ridley Scott...
It’s been just under a week now since a new Michael Fassbender film rolled into cinemas, what with Shame coming out last Friday. Fortunately, the wait for another one is now over. Today, then, his latest project, Haywire, arrives on cinema screens in the UK.
Directed by Steven Soderbergh (and shot prior to his most recent movie, Contagion), Haywire is a muddled beast, but a muddled beast with a fabulous cast. Fassbender included.
Chatting to InStyle, the folks there managed to get him talking about our most anticipated movie of the year, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. And, while keeping his cards close to his chest, Fassbender confirmed that “I play the humanoid android”.
He added that “The first thing that struck me was a good script. Really intelligent script. A real thriller. Real anticipation. The first Alien had that. The atmosphere was thick. You knew that something was going to happen. Which is very rare that you can read that in a script.”
Turning to Ridley Scott, Fassbender said “he’s amazing. Really something else to watch him work. His attention to detail. And also his mischievousness, his playfulness. And again, no idea is stupid for him. He’ll let you bring it to the floor and have a go at it. I really, really enjoyed working with him. And of course the cast."
Prometheus arrives on cinema screens in June.
