Fright Night: new trailer

Vampire comedy remake Fright Night’s release is just around the corner, and to advertise the fact, there’s a new trailer for you to watch…

The 1985 original will take some beating, but director Craig Gillespie’s decided to sink his teeth into a Fright Night remake anyway – and to be fair, he’s managed to assemble a sterling cast for this reimagining of a horror comedy classic. The excellent Anton Yelchin replaces William Ragsdale in the lead role of schoolboy Charley Brewster, while Colin Farrell plays the sleazy vampire next door, Jerry Dandridge.

Elsewhere, there’s David Tennant as a Las Vegas magician, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Yelchin’s best friend, Evil Ed Thompson. Judging by the trailer, the starry cast acquits itself well, though there are one or two scenes here that look worryingly like the production ran out of light bulbs midway through filming.

We’ll be bringing you our final verdict on the film nearer to its release on 2nd September, but until then, enjoy the fang-tastic (sorry) trailer, courtesy of Empire, below.
