New British movie Tower Block confirmed
Doctor Who and Torchwood writer James Moran has penned a brand new movie. And we've got some details of it right here...
You might know the pen of James Moran from its work on the likes of Doctor Who, Torchwood and the movie Severance. You’ll soon know it, too, for the currently in post-production film, Cockneys vs Zombies. But you might just want to add another credit to the list, as another of Moran’s screenplays, Tower Block, is heading into production next week.
The film is set to star Jack O’Connell, Russell Tovey, Sheridan Smith and Ralph Brown, and it’s being directed by debutants Ronnie Thompson and James Nunn. It’ll be shooting on location in East London.
The premise of the film is centred around Tower Block 31, which is home to a brutal murder. Its residents are too scared to come forward, and the crime is never solved. Fast forward a year, and said tenants of Tower Block 31 suddenly find that they’re under threat, from someone who might just be taking justice into their own hands.
Can they all escape Tower Block 31? Couldn’t tell you. But we can tell you that the film is likely to be released in 2012.
While we’re here, keep an eye out too for the upcoming British film, Stormhouse. That’s been directed by Daniel Turner, who co-directed the acclaimed web drama Girl Number 9 with James Moran. It’s a small world…
