New trailer arrives for Kevin Smith's Red State
Kevin Smith’s forthcoming indie horror Red State gets a new trailer, which you can see within...
Kevin Smith's just embarked on his Red State tour, which is sending his new film off on a 15-date promotional screening before it receives its wider release on the October 19th. To tie in with that piece of news, Smith has unveiled a new trailer for his sinister new movie.
As Smith himself notes in his introduction, Red State is a far more bleak, disturbing movie than his earlier work, and tackles the potentially weighty (not to mention controversial) theme of religious fundamentalism, with its story inspired by the rantings of real-life pastor, Fred Phelps.
Michael Parks plays a deranged preacher, Abin Cooper, while John Goodman appears in what could be one of his most interesting roles in years as a kind-hearted government agent, and we eagerly await the announcement of a UK release date.
