New Conan film gets a release date

When can we expect to see the mighty Conan back on the big screen? That’ll be next August…

Currently in post-production under the supervision of director Marcus Nispel, the brand new take on Conan has now been earmarked for release on August 19th 2011. That's the American release date that's been announced by Lionsgate, who'll no doubt be keen to repeat the success it had in releasing The Expendables at a similar time of the year.

Conan, which will be in 3D, will be going head to head with the reboot of Fright Night, and also Robert Rodriguez's Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World.

It stars Jason Momoa in the title role, and the current thinking is that Lionsgate will be targeting a PG-13 rating for the film. Expect a trailer in the next couple of months, we'd suggest...
