The latest clip appears for Steve Carell and Paul Rudd’s forthcoming comedy, Dinner For Schmucks…

While we're not looking forward to Dinner For Schmucks with quite the same fervour as Scott Pilgrim or The Other Guys, Steve Carell and Paul Rudd's forthcoming comedy pairing still looks like a lot of fun.

This latest trailer explores further the pair's executive/social misfit dynamic, with Rudd playing the straight man to Carell's hopelessly inept Barry, a performance not unlike the actor's unforgettable turn as Brick Tamland in Anchorman.

Wrapping up Dinner For Schmucks' premise in an efficient few seconds: go-getting Rudd's bosses host dinner parties where they invite the most odd people they can find, and the hapless Carell is Rudd's guest of choice. The trailer then gives us a glimpse of the kind of humour we can expect, taking in blind swordsmen, unhinged ventriloquists and Jemaine Clement as the Devil, of all people.

Our standout moment? Carell's ecstatic, childlike reaction to television footage of a Japanese Macaque eating paper. Bizarre, brilliant stuff from a master of comic timing.

Dinner For Schmucks is due out in UK cinemas on 3 September, and is out in the US on 30 July.
