One of the absolute delights of the last summer was heading into an IMAX cinema to watch The Dark Knight, replete with the six scenes that had been filmed specifically with IMAX-ready cameras. The upcoming DVD has got quite a job on its hands to recreate said scenes with half the impact.
Anyway, following the news that Jon Favreau is interested in filming certain sequences in the next Iron Man film with IMAX cameras, Michael Bay has beaten him to the punch with next summer’s Transformers 2. Bay has confirmed that at least three scenes in Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen will be filmed with IMAX cameras, assuring the film you’d think of a lucrative return from screens that support the format.
Transformers 2 arrives next June, and is filming right now.
