Ah so it will share the previous 3 films need to take Spidey's mask off. The one superhero who has always done his best to keep his identity secret in the books(to the point they recon'd out a couple of decades of stories just to remove his public unmasking) can't wait to get on film and take his mask off

Aaaaaahhhhh put the F'ing mask on. What is it with these films & the continuing unmasking of the hero. Dark Knight Rises is looking like it's gonmna go big time down this route too :-(

Funnily enough I was reading a trade of Gerry Conway's run on Amazing Spider-Man yesterday, of a few issues when Spidey lost his mask thanks to Doc Ock and had fo find a temporary, rather crap replacement. He was slinging around without it on for a while. And haven't any of you heard of the Bombastic Bag-Man?!

*checks* See Amazing Spider-Man #113-116 for some early mask troubles.

The worst part of Spider-Man 2 was the public seeing Parker's face on the el train. Still, I'm interested to see this non-Raimi Spidey movie.

It's plain, and simple: HOLLYWOOD hates [Comic Book]Superheroes---particularly when it can't totally control the 'Rights'---and the Spidey property had been in litigation for 15 or more years before anyone (Sony first) could bring him to the Big Screen. Hey, Raimi said he was a childhood Fan, and look at how goofy his portrayals were. All we can do is cross our fingers that this new team will do a better job... GBJ

The latest shot from The Amazing Spider-Man finds Andrew Garfield suited up and ready to go…

Sony appears to be ramping up its publicity machine for The Amazing Spider-Man, a good six months before the film is due to appear. This year already, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone have been doing promotional work for Marc Webb’s movie, whilst we’re expecting a new trailer in the weeks ahead.

For now, though, have a new picture. This is Andrew Garfield, in full web slinger mode, in a pose that could comfortably win him a game of Twister.

The Amazing Spider-Man
is released in July.
